I was really excited to create this new website and share one of my core passions with the world, but as the words of Robert Burns indicate, I ran into some unexpected obstacles.
Those that have gone through the site might have noticed that I’m an avid practitioner of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. Well, despite my best attempts at ensuring the contrary, I was injured. While choking a classmate with my legs, he passed out, fell on me and I herniated a disc in my lumbar spine. After enduring excruciating pain and exhausting every non-surgical alternative, I finally went under the knife last week. Good news: pain is gone entirely. Bad news: I’m currently on the tail end of withdrawing from the powerful pain medication I was taking prior to surgery.
I’m happy to be able sit in a chair and function sufficiently so as to share my thoughts once again. My next post on the relationship between time and exercise will come next week. I hope this website continues to be a refuge for those who seek a more philosophical approach to fitness.
