Some say that all artists suffer for their art. Well martial artists are no different. I started with karate in the second grade and have since studied judo, aikido, kenjitsu, muay thai, and brazilian jiu jitsu. Over that time, I’ve had two ACL reconstructions, more sprains and strains then I can remember, and recently, a herniated disc requiring surgery. And yet I cannot turn away from the martial arts that have been a constant throughout my life.
